The kind of vehicle usually found within warehouses, factories and different work locations where moving heavy materials from one location to another is required is known as a forklift. The mast is the mechanism located on the front of the forklift that hydraulically lowers and raises the load. The "cat" is the protected area where the driver of the forklift sits.
Forklifts are capable of carrying loads between one and five tons in weight. Several types can be used to lift shipping containers and much heavier loads.
Forklift tires should be checked and maintained on a regular basis. The kinds of tires on different forklifts differ according to factors like weight of the loads, ground surfaces and frequency of use. Each and every forklift operator should have access to tire press, replacement tires and a forklift jack.
Tire Maintenance Instructions
You should frequently inspect the tires. Watch for indications of wear and damage to the tires. If the wear on the tire exceeds 40%, it must be replaced.
When buying tires, ensure that you are purchasing the right type - polyurethane, solid or pneumatic.
When the tire needs replacing, position the forklift jack under the tire and raise the forklift high enough that you could change the tires easily.
You can use the tire press to pull the tire from the rim and remove the damaged tire. Install the new tire and secure it properly. If you are changing more than one tire and you have just one jack, lower the forklift, and then reposition the jack at the next tire.
A repair company can provide on-site tire repair. If the tire is too big for both mobile and in-house tire presses, the damaged tire should be transported to a shop that has a stationary tire press.
