Different Classes of Aerial Lift
Aerial lifts are a specialized type of heavy equipment that allows workers to be raised into the air. These machines can be used to carry out repairs and maintenance in areas which are high up in the air like on roofs, near power lines and street-light fixtures. Like nearly all tools, there are different kinds of aerial lifts which can be utilized to complete different tasks. For the utmost safety, every type of different kind of equipment requires proper training and specific certification before operation.

Scissor Lifts
Genie lifts are another name for scissor lifts. These machinery are the most basic kind of aerial lift available. These lifts are made of a platform which is raised up utilizing pneumatic power and are mainly utilized indoors. Normally, scissor lifts are the safest kind of lift models. When completely compressed, these scissor lifts are capable of being driven similar to large carts. Usually, when the platform is extended, they are not able to be driven for safety reasons. Before anyone could utilize these devices, workers need to be certified as operators.

Boom Lifts
The boom lift is a much more complicated pieces of aerial lift machine compared to a scissor lift. The boom lift normally has a much wider base in order to keep the lift anchored. It uses a jointed arm which has a bucket on the end of it. There is a control box situated in the bucket that allows the operator to lower and raise the bucket. As the arm of the boom is jointed, it could move from side to side as well. The boom lift resembles a metal scorpion's tail. Traditionally, it is used in construction applications outdoors. The boom lift is considered to be more risky to run compared to scissor lifts, thus, operators should be certified individually for these kinds of lifts.
