The Carriage
Similar to standard forklifts, the lifting attachment is able t be tilted from its horizontal position to forwards and backwards. The actual amount of tilt possible totally exceeds that of vertical mast forklifts. There are different types of available lifting attachments, and this positioning ability makes them as efficient as possible.
Nearly all telehandlers can tilt forward to a point where the carriage is actually parallel with the ground believe it or not! Additionally, many units offer rotating carriages also. This enables the operator to radially adjust the lifting attachment. This translates to the load being able of being tilted forwards and backwards, and side to side.
Load Capacity
Figuring out a telehandler's load capacity is a a lot different exercise than it is on a vertical mast unit. The capacity of the unit is completely dependent on such things as: boom extension and angle, whether the unit is lifting on rubber tires or on outriggers, and the amount of boom transaction deployed, if this is applicable. Additionally, which lifting attachment plays a very main role, as does the wind, the grade the machinery is operating on and so forth. All of these specifics can be changing constantly and this gives the operator much more information to consider.
Normally, telehandlers have some load charts available in order for the operator to reference so they can know the load capacity of a particular lift. Depending on the unit in particular and the configuration of the boom, the load capacity can differ by thousands of pounds all together.
