Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck normally goes by other names such as: Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie. These pieces of machinery are basically a motorized type of a pallet jack. They come in both "Walkie" models and "Rider" versions.
Like what the name implies, the walkie model is designed for the operator to walk along with the unit as they move cargo. The Rider model on the other hand, utilizes a small platform wherein the operator stands on. The rider models are great for frequent moving of cargo over extended distances in manufacturing operations and warehouses. They are extremely fast and maneuverable.
It is essential to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and thus, it is not recommended to move tall or unstable loads using these machines. A rider could be the perfect answer if you are searching for a cheap method for moving loads from point A to point B. If though, you should move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model might be the right alternative.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machine is particularly designed for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the operator and the load with a purpose to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are usually very narrow aisle vehicles that can operate in aisles of less than six feet. They are really useful pieces of equipment in cycle counting situations as well as in physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more popular.
