Seat Belts for Counterbalances
A forklift, also referred to as a counterbalance, carries loads as heavy as 30,000 pounds. Despite being large and sturdy, these industrial machinery still carry the possible risk of crash or accident. In order to be very safe, be sure to have operators put on an appropriate seat belt inside the forklift and check that up to standard safety features are on board. People know that seat belts can save lives in the event of an accident.
Three-Point Seat Belt
Three-point seat belts could extend over the lap and across the upper body. These belts offer an extra degree of safety by protecting your body. They are available in both bucket-seat and bench-seat types. The 3-point seat belts are available in either retractable and non-retractable kinds.
The majority of modern vehicles available offer retractable seat belts. Although non-retractable kinds increase safety, retractable types provide more comfort. It is truly impossible for a non-retractable seat belt to accidentally extend.
Lap belts
The type of seat belt which only extends over the lower part of the body is a two-point lap belt. The majority of lap belts are non-retractable and feature a push-button closure system. In order to secure the seat belt, simply press on the belt button and the two sides will separate.
Circuit-closed seat belt
The circuit-closed seat belts are the type that force forklift operators to wear a seat belt. These seat belts have a micro-switch attached that makes an alarm sound if an operator starts a vehicle and is unsecured by a seat belt. The circuit-closed seat belts are made in both retractable and non-retractable lap-band kinds.
