Reach Truck
To be able to keep storage areas orderly and to stock up supplies and pallets of goods, a reach truck can be used. The reach truck comes in several kinds: the double-deep reach, straddle reach and the stand-up reach.
The stand-up is the simplest. The forks of the truck slide underneath the pallet and move it to the correct storage location. The forks slide the pallet into place. This particular type of reach truck is suitable when shelving units are one pallet deep.
Ideal for workplaces where the shelving units are deep enough to have two pallets of goods, the double-deep reach truck, which is similar to the stand-up, is frequently utilized. This particular version consists of telescopic forks intended to place the pallet at the rear of the shelving unit. This saves having to push the pallet back when another pallet has to go into the same shelving section.
The added advantage of straddle reaches is that they could both slide beneath the pallet and grasp the sides also. These are recommended for workplaces where shelving units can be accessed in multiple directions. This particular model is best in situations where goods would not be damaged if the pallet sides are grabbed.
Normally more than one kind of reach truck is required in warehouses. Textile firms and manufacturing facilities utilize various kinds of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not hard to operate and could increase productivity while maximizing available storage space.
