Use a Pneumatic Forklift
Pneumatic forklifts are common in shipping and warehouse operations. Also known as pump trucks or pallet trucks, they are utilized in order to move materials and products around on wooden pallets utilizing metal forks mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight contains a pump that lifts the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is designed to be operated by a single individual.

Pallet trucks should be operated carefully in order to prevent loss of control while raising heavy loads. Machine must be checked prior to operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstacle. Check that the handle smoothly turns. The pallet should be carefully stacked to be able to ensure that nothing will fall off during transportation.

To lower the forks and release air in the pump, squeeze the lever found on the inside of the metal loop on the end of the pallet truck's handle. The forks could then be pushed into the pallet slots. The forks must be at the center in order to ensure equal distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Raise the forks from the ground by pumping the handle of the pneumatic lift until the pallet has cleared the ground completely. Do not raise the pallet too high or the forklift can unbalance.

Move the pallet by pulling on the handle and then dragging it behind you. It is not safe to push the pallet ahead of you since the thrust could cause it to lose control. Take turns slowly and don't try to stop suddenly. Stop gradually, squeeze the lever, and the forks will lower to the ground. Finally, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent place.
